A Blackpool woman has given up a successful career to focus on her true passion – photography.

Ex-procurement manager and business analyst Lisa Holman has left that world behind to set up Lisa Holman Photography after 20 years in the private and public sector.

She specialises in corporate photography, from marketing brochures and books to websites and promotional material.

Lisa also has a track record in family, lifestyle and wedding photography.

She has had an interest in photography for more than 10 years but said after being successfully treated for breast cancer she decided to change her life with her new start-up business.

“It changes the way you look at life , I was good at my job but I did not love it, so I decided to pursue something I did love.”

She said her aim was to capture natural and candid shots. She added: “I haven’t looked back. People have called me ‘soul catcher’
because of my ability to bring out the spirit, passion and essence of whatever I
photograph.”

Her client list includes Superfast Lancashire, Angel life coach Lynn Avis and Grace and Favour Fabrics and The Sewing Sanctuary. Her work for clients includes capturing fun photos at events, showcasing products and services for online use and image collages for small businesses using social media.

Lisa works across the North West and has ambitious plans to run photography workshops for amateurs and develop a programme to use photography as part of ‘Mindfulness’ coaching.

Lisa said: “I have a real passion and energy for people and photography. I love to use this passion to help professional clients to tell the story of their business and showcase their products or services.

“I love to build a relationship with my clients so that I can understand their vision for their business and work together to create amazing images.”

Lisa’s family, lifestyle and wedding photography specialises in working with couples and families to create a bespoke service where they only get the photographs they want, rather than buying an off the shelf package.

Lisa got support for her business from Blackpool Council’s Get Started team and the More Programme and Northern Lights from the University of Central Lancashire, which backs creative businesses and is part funded by the European Regional Development Fund.
