A young Blackpool Entrepreneur has proved that given the right start, and a helping hand from some Blackpool Dragons, can fulfill their dreams of becoming a showcase for Artists around the globe.
In 2012/13, Joseph Pegler, seen above in Bratislava, Slovakia where he was visiting one of his featured artists, won the prestigious Blackpool Council Oracle Young Entrepreneur Challenge.
The Dragons panel saw great potential in his idea, as well as his entrepreneurial spirit, and had no hesitation in awarding him the trophy.
Since winning the award, The Lucky Jotter art showcase has developed into a recognisable brand both nationally and internationally with established artists. Using the knowledge and guidance from the Get Started team, and affiliated mentors, I have been able to take the brand to different cities and countries.
Joe said “The Lucky Jotter International Art Showcase will be exhibiting artists from around the world in the University Center Gallery within the Blackpool and Fylde College, for its 8th exhibition between 3rd October and the 18th November.

Over the past 4 years I have succeeded in my mission to provide a service that exposes artists’ work to the public through our online sites and exhibition shows.
Our online platform showcases a mixture of amazing talent, with a handful of the featured artists being award winners in their chosen field.
Over the years, we have exhibited in several major cities such as Manchester and Berlin; this has resulted in some fantastic partnerships along the way.
As a new business it is vital that you take advantage of advice when available, and I cannot thank Blackpool Council’s Get started team as well as the Culture, Libraries, Heritage & Art team, enough for their continued support.”
Joseph has expanded to a second studio in Manchester which has helped him further his professional career and his Blackpool born business, The Lucky Jotter.
He is a true home grown Entrepreneur.
