Yoga Blackpool will be offering you the chance to take part in a charity fundraiser at YB. On Wednesday 21st December 6.15-8.30pm. They will complete 108 sun salutations in aid of Brian House. The class will be led by the inspiring Emily Young who will be teaching 2 new classes at YB in the New Year.

This Christmas, Yoga Blackpool want to raise some well needed funds for local charity Brian House. We invite you to a donation class on Wednesday the 21st of December (winter solstice) at 6.15pm, that will leave you energised for the upcoming festivities.

The winter solstice is a special day of the year celebrated by many cultures because it marks the shortest day and the longest night of the year. Yoga studios across the world gather on the solstice to honor the season. Typically yogis do 108 Sun Salutations. Surya Namaskar, the Sun Salutation, is a series of 12 postures performed in a single, graceful flow. Each movement is coordinated with the breath. The Sun Salutation builds strength and increases flexibility.

It usually takes about 1.5 – 2 hours to complete, at Yoga Blackpool they will preform 9 rounds of 12 Sun Salutations. All are welcome, beginners to advanced, options will be offered and resting is encouraged!
